- CloudFlare terminates service to 8chan.[1] Cloudflare's CEO states that the termination is in response to recent mass-shooters who appeared to be "inspired by" 8chan and that 8chan "has repeatedly proven itself to be a cesspool of hate."[2]
6 August 2019
- 8chan owner Jim Watkins responds to recent events in a Youtube video, defending 8chan as a website for free speech and stating that "8chan is a lawful community, abiding by the laws of the United States and enforced in the Ninth Circuit Court [...]."[3]
