FunnyJunk is a social website were users can upload content in the form of images, videos, and animated GIFs, Advice animals, and rage comics are frequently submitted to the site, some of which are originally created by the FunnyJunk users.
History
The FunnyJunk domain was registered by an unknown party on July 29, 2001. The site's admin is only known by his screen name, Admin. In April 2010, Admin claimed to have handed over the site's administrative duties to the user, TheDesigner, while many speculated that it was just another alias being used by Admin. [1]
On February 28, 2010, users from 4chan did a raid against FunnyJunk, by repeatedly spamming the site with images. To the FunnyJunk community this was considered as a failure.
Role in GamerGate
FunnyJunk mods posted a reminder that users can talk badly about feminists/SJW and/or discuss Gamergate within the site. [2] Also, they encourage it.
